The Airbus 380 was born as the largest passenger aircraft in history with its more than 70 meters long, its 64.4 meters wingspan and a capacity for 555 passengers in its conventional version, to face 35 years of reign of the 'Jumbo' B747, the emblematic aircraft of the U.S. manufacturer Boeing.
It can reach a maximum capacity of 853 passengers "in a hypothetical high-density economy class configuration".
The European aerospace manufacturer announced in 2019 that it would cease production of the aircraft in 2021, due to a lack of new orders.
